L&YR 0-6-0 52044 crosses Roach Viaduct on a test run with a mixed freight, including 4 freshly overhauled tanker wagons.

LMS Jinty 47298 on a test run, acting as Bury Station pilot, while Flying Scotsman was down on static display at Heywood.

'New build' GWR 4-6-0 2999 Lady of Legend visited the East Lancs for the beginning of the 2023 season.

1940s Weekend

Saturday 27th to Monday 29th 2023

L&Y Pug 11243 was the star of the 1940s Weekend shunting wagons around Bury station limits. Mainline services were handled by 752, 52322 & 47298.

Small Engines Gala

Saturday 10th June 2023

Featuring visiting locomotive Lucie, the ELR's Small Engines Gala returned with a impressive line up featuring Sentinel 'Ann', L&Y Pug 19, 0-6-0ST 752, Jinty 47298, MSC 'Gothenburg' and a range of Class 03, 08, 09 and 14 diesels joined by fresh from the works MSC 4002 Arundel Castle.

Autumn Steam Gala

13th to March 2023

Stanier Jubilee Leander and 8F 48305 were the visitors to the Autumn Steam Gala. One of the highlights of the event was MSC 32 Gothenburg in black shunting around Bury.

October Half term

Wednesday 25th October saw visiting 8F 48305 in service on half term trains in beautiful autumn colours. On Sunday 22nd October 34072 257 Squadron and 34092 City of Wells were in service and double headed the first and last trains of the day, before taking part in a photo charter at Bury Bolton Street.
