BYGONES WEEKEND

7th to 9th October 2022

Our look at the FR's 2022 Vintage Weekend starts off with a cavalcade of World War One steam and internal combustion locomotives arriving into Porthmadog Harbour station. Following their arrival Double Fairlie Merddin Emrys is seen crossing the Cob with an evening shuttle to Minffordd comprised of the Victorian set. The WWI locomotives are then seen during the evening photography session at Harbour station, with Baldwin 608, Alco Mountaineer, Simplex Mary Ann and Baldwin Moelwyn.

Moving onto Saturday and Sunday, we start off with Merddin Emrys arriving into Minffordd to take out the 'anti-gravity' train to Dduallt on Sunday. We see the Double Fairlie departing the mineral line and climbing Gwyndy Bank. The previous day David Lloyd George took the up slates, seen at Cei Mawr and shortly after departing Tan-y-bwlch. George England No. 5 'Welsh Pony' is seen with the matching Victorian set crossing the cob and climbing Gwyndy Bank, with Palmerston seen on the goods set. We also see the Double Fairlies, Blanche and Lyd are seen on more modern sets. At Porthmadog on Saturday we see Hunslet "Lilla' on footplate rides (after also acting as station pilot) were the now electrically powered Wickham is also seen giving rides.
