The weekend of the Royal Weekend, what a better way to spend it then escaping to Wales. A long weekend travelling and videoing the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland lines. This was my first experience of Welsh Highland trains south of Rhyd Ddu, having previously walked through Aberglaslyn Pass shortly after trains had reached Rhyd Ddu, and the scenery through there with Garratt's puffing through is a magnificent sight.

Two locomotives were in temporary black liveries, in the form of L&B replica Lyd carrying a BR Black livery prior to carrying the more familiar Southern livery of its sisters, and Linda fresh from overhaul carried a temporary plain black livery.
