Corris railway

Running on a short preserved section of the Corris Railway between Corris and Maespoeth Junction. At Maespoeth Junction passengers alight for a guided tour of the original locomotive shed/workshop and new build carriage shed.

The line is currently in the process of extending westwards, while it will never reach Machynlleth again, it is hoped to restore the line to Tan-y-Coed, giving a running line of 2 1/2 miles.

Since 2005, steam hauled services having been haul by a new build locomotive, No. 7, to the Kerr Stuart Tattoo design. The loco is a replica of Corris Railway No.4, which is now preserved at the Talyllyn Railway.

A second new build steam locomotive is currently under construction. No. 10, is being built to the Falcon design of Corris No. 3 which is also preserved at the Talyllyn Railway.
