Diesels Naming Convention

The naming convention for diesel locomotives is based on the naming of Ffestiniog diesels. Main line diesels are being named after local halls, much like the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland diesels being named after local castles. Rufford Hall is the first name allocated, while future available names include Hurlston Hall, Briars Hall, Speke Hall and Croxteth Hall. Smaller diesels are named after plants and herbs.
