Delph vintage rally 2021

Saturday 17th July 2021

The S&WLLR took a temporary track over to the first annual 'Delph Vintage Rally'. A range of Ffestiniog wagons and 'Terry the Traction Engine' made the journey, along with the pair of Ruston shunters, No. 1 Dandelion and Talyllyn Railway No. 5 Midlander.

The line was a short run alongside a pond, with a siding, enabling shunting to take place. The pair of locomotives performed demonstration runs along the short stretch of track, regularly shunting the wagons to form different formations of vehicles.

The S&WLLR took a temporary track over to the second annual 'Delph Vintage Rally'. A longer line than the previous year was erected, with the line running round three sides of the pond.

Prince and Rosie, joined Midlander on its 2nd visit, with passenger rides alongside shunting and freight train demonstration runs. Passenger stock was formed of a Penrhyn Workmen's Carriage and Ffestiniog Bug Boxes 1 & 12 (inspired by their visits to Shrewsbury and the Albert Dock, Liverpool).
